PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) are out of control. If they would stop for one minute and think about what they believe, they would realize how ridiculous they are.
I am for the ethical treatment of animals. Animals deserve to be respected and treated right.
I hate PETA.
How can someone be a “person for the ethical treatment of animals” and be against “People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals”? Seems odd, but it’s not. PETA is not for the ethical treatment of animals, it is an organization that thinks animals are gods. If animals were gods, they would not need PETA because they would be immortal and in no danger of being treated unethically.
Now, let me give you some examples of what I mean.
PETA hates animals to be pets.
PETA hates any type of meat eating.
PETA hates hunting.
PETA hates humans.
PETA is against any type of animals as pets because they are against keeping animals away from their natural habitats. That would have to include seeing-eye dogs, search and rescue dogs, police dogs, ……homing pigeons :), etc.
If animals who help humans are unable to do so this leads me to believe that…
PETA hates humans
There has been research done to prove that pets are good for lowering blood pressure, lowering cholesterol, and lowering stress levels in pet owners.
If pets help human health and PETA is against pets, this leads me to believe that…
PETA hates humans.
PETA is against any type of meat eating and hunting. Now, does this make any sense at all? Come on, the human race has survived only because we’ve hunted animals and eaten them. If we weren’t made to eat meat than why weren’t we limited to having molars only?……like cows…
If the human race exists today only because they have eaten animals and PETA is against eating animals, this leads me to believe that…
PETA hates humans.
No hunting? Are you joking? People have hunted for thousands of years. I don’t get why all of a sudden it’s not ok anymore. Now, where I come from in Northern Maine we have tons and tons of moose. If there was no moose hunting season to limit the population, people would die. Cars hit moose daily where I am from. Many of these accidents are fatal, both to the humans and the moose. So if we look at it logically we can choose between a hunting season where moose die or no hunting season where moose die, AND people die from hitting them with their cars. It only seems right to save human lives.
If hunting saves human lives and PETA is against hunting, this leads me to believe that…
PETA hates humans.
Real PETA member quote:
“I support anyone who would give their life to save animals and the enviroment. Besides peacful protest has already failed. Its time for militant intervention.”
I won’t say it again, but this leads me to believe…

Society overuses the word “hero”. Often times it is used to describe an average person in the right place at the right time. Being a hero shouldn’t be like playing a slot machine, it’s about character. I think our society likes to have heroes so they take the liberty to institute them at will. A person who sees a young girl fall into water and rescues the child from drowning is NOT a hero in my opinion. It is expected for any person in that situation who was competent to go after the child, to do it!
It bothers me when people tell a story that involves a person that did what any other decent human being would have done in that situation, and calls them a hero. Who wouldn’t go after the girl? There’s nothing heroic about doing something that you are expected to do. There is nothing heroic about being in the right place at the right time. It just happened that this person was standing in a place that allowed for a girl to fall in the water while they were present. Webster’s definition for a “hero” is “a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities”. This says to me a hero must have achievements as well as noble qualities; both must be included to be a hero. The definition given by Webster for “noble” is “possessing outstanding qualities”.
If anyone would have done their best to save the girl in that situation than that is NOT an outstanding quality and would disqualify the person from being titled “hero”. The only way you are a hero in my opinion is if you do something that you are NOT expected to do. If every person who saves a life while doing what is “expected” is considered a hero, than why is it fair to the people who go above and beyond the call of duty to be labeled with the same honor?
I’m sure by now people are thinking “Ok then, if saving a little girl’s life isn’t heroic, what IS a hero?” If a firefighter is in a burning house, knowing that a person is trapped inside and the chief radios the danger of the house and gives permission for the firefighter to leave the house for his own safety, but decides to check one more room before leaving, to save the trapped person, THAT is a heroic deed. That firefighter was not expected to continue searching for the trapped person, but went above and beyond his call of duty giving himself “outstanding qualities” thus giving him a heroic title. I would say that even a parent who goes above and beyond what is expected of them to be as a parent, with distinguished morals, and works exceptionally hard to raise a great child, than THAT is a hero.
Next time you use the word hero, use it right. I’m sick and tired of hearing about “heroes” that didn’t do anything special. A hero is an honor; it’s not about odds. Let’s keep it that way.

Barry Bonds is predicted to pass Hank Aaron’s all-time homerun record this year (on pace for the end of June actually). This could possibly be the saddest day in American baseball, a.k.a. “America’s Pastime”. It could easily be the end of baseball as we know it. It’s not that I care that much about Hank Aaron; I never saw him play; I wasn’t even alive. I do feel bad for him though. Some guy comes along 30 years later to break his record. Not just any guy though; a guy who cheats. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not picking on Barry for cheating, because there are LOTS of steroid users in baseball, I pick on him because he is an arrogant, pretentious liar. I would never wish anything bad upon his life, but the best thing that could happen to baseball at this point is if Barry Bonds’ woke up one day soon with a broken femur and never played again.
These are a few quotes of his to help explain what I mean.
“Doctors ought to quit worrying about what ballplayers are taking. What players take doesn’t matter. It’s nobody else’s business. The doctors should spend their time looking for cures for cancer. It takes more than muscles to hit homers. If all those guys were using stuff, how come they’re not all hitting homers?”– May 21, 2002
Doctors SHOULD worry about what players take if it is giving them high blood pressure, heart damage, liver damage, and shrinking testicles. Come on, that’s their job. Their job is not limited to finding cures for cancer. The other guys ARE hitting homers, just not as many as you. So that just makes you the best steroid-using homerun hitter…Congratulations.
“No. I don’t have to [use steroids]. I mean, I’m a good enough ballplayer as it is. I don’t need to be any better. I can’t get any better at this age.”– June 2002,in an interview on On the Record with Bob Costas
So why use steroids then?
“I never asked. When he said it was flaxseed oil, I just said, ‘Whatever.’ It was in the ballpark … in front of everybody. I mean, all the reporters, my teammates, I mean they all saw it. I didn’t hide it.”– Dec. 4, 2003,during grand jury testimony, according to the San Francisco Chronicle
Yeah, because flaxseed oil makes your muscles bulge and your testicles shrink. I’m pretty sure I would notice.
“What did I do? What did I do? … It’s almost comical, basically. We’ve got alcohol that’s the No. 1 killer in America, and we legalize that. You’ve got tobacco, No. 2 or 3 killer in America. We legalize that. There’s other issues… Are you guys jealous? Are you upset? Disappointed? What? …” Feb. 22, 2005,his first public comments after his grand jury testimony was leaked
What did you do? You ruined “America’s Pastime” by cheating and yeah, we are disappointed and upset. Actually, obesity is now ranked as the “No. 1 killer in America”, but your point is even more irrelevant because smokers and drinkers are not cheating. It’s not healthy, but they aren’t breaking rules. You are.
“You’re talking about something that wasn’t even illegal at the time. All this stuff about supplements, protein shakes, whatever. Man, it’s not like this is the Olympics.”– March 4, 2005
So if it were the Olympics then you wouldn’t have done steroids? Well, steroids are against the rules in the Olympics, and steroids are against the rules in Major League Baseball; what’s the difference?
“You wanted me to jump off the bridge, I finally have jumped. You wanted to bring me down, you’ve finally brought me and my family down. Finally done it. From everybody, all of you. So now go pick a different person. I’m done.”– March 23, 2005
If that were true, if you were done, I wouldn’t care. I care because you aren’t done; I care because you are likely to hold a record that you don’t deserve. And don’t try to make people feel guilty about how your family is being brought down. You are bringing them down. If you didn’t do steroids, it wouldn’t be that way.

The other day I came across a very interesting and difficult subject. My first instinct was …avoid it. My second thought was… does avoiding controversial issues help? I don’t think so. I think it’s just a form of procrastination; to just put an issue off until someone pressures you to do something about it.
The idea of reparations for black-Americans (descendents of slaves) is interesting because on one hand you have people saying “why should the US government use the taxes of people who never owned slaves to repay the blacks who were never even in slavery?” and then on the other hand black-Americans saying “Why shouldn’t the US government give money to ancestors of slaves for not only a government supported wrongdoing, but also because they have been enduring hardships of racism and poverty ever since they were freed?”
I can see both sides… but I only agree with one.
If there were any slaves alive in the US today I would say, “Here, have some money for the tragic, unjustified act of crime that was committed against you”. I would have no problem with that, but there are none.
I understand that black-Americans have not had an easy time in this country, but that is not a reason to hand them money. There are little white boys and little white girls born into tough situations like poverty and violence everyday; none of us know the underlying situations that got them there, but we don’t give them money. We give them sympathy. It seems to me that a price tag cannot be put on sympathy, and the idea of money doesn’t cut it. I am sympathetic toward the deceased slaves and their struggles; I believe that is all I owe them.
Let’s be honest for a second.
If black-America wants their ancestors to get what they are due, then they must give them respect. Receiving money “for them” is not giving respect. Respecting them would include the realization that their ancestors didn’t go through that tough time for nothing. Whether they knew it at the time or not, they did it so that their descendents could live in the great country of the United States; where they are free to do the same things every other US citizen can do. They are free to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness just like the rest of us.
Besides, if it weren’t for the slaves, black-Americans would still be Africans. Stop whining, it could be worse.
